We get our QB to count the box. If there are only 5, he simply makes a MAN call and we lock on a man. If fewer come, we keep our shoulders square and help.
If they keep 6 in the box, we make a Zone right or left call and turn a defender loose on the outside. Once i step to my zone, if nothing shows then i help biggest threat

We work man from inside out. If there is an extra man he is the edge guy(usually a LB) and the QB has to account for him and throw on time.

I generally scheme my protection to the QB's blind side any way. Like fogle we make a man call, however I let my center make the scheme calls. He comes up, identifies the mike, and identifies the LB the the blind side. I let my man side stay locked in (this will be to the QB's front side) and I let my backside "fan" or zone.
