O Line Hand Placement Drill

Postby nationalpastime on Thu May 14, 2009 11:10 am

Ideally you want your guys to have at least helmets on, but they're not required. Have them partner up across from each other and get them to get forehead to forehead. Tell them to lean on each other with a good base. The harder they lean into each other usually means the better body alignment they'll have as far as a "banana" spine. Tell them to lock their index fingers together behind their backs. On a command both linemen will fire their hands into the other one's chest. Whoever loses has to fight to get his hands back inside. I usually have them go for 4 seconds before I break them up. If you have a problem with guys "brother-in-lawing" each other split them up and put them with kids that will get after it.

I like that, I use a version of it, but that one seems more complete. Thanks.
